After we had breakfast, the first point of our day was to plant trees. The school donates 200 trees every year, which are planted on the high school grounds. We started to plant some of these. Unlike in Germany, trees here are planted in a hollow about 30 to 50 cm deep. This serves to collect rainwater and allow it to seep away through the roots of the tree. The tool used is not a shovel/spade, but rather a kind of rake. Once we had done our work (and improved our environmental footprint). We were given some time to refresh ourselves.

We then travelled to Dodoma, where we visited the city's Catholic cathedral. It is the episcopal see of the Dodoma region. It dates back to 1963, before that the bishop's seat was in the monastery we visited yesterday. Afterwards we explored the Anglican cathedral, which looked like a crusader church, and the Lutheran church, which even had TVs to broadcast the service outside the church.

When we returned to school after lunch, we had to deal with another Wi-Fi outage

In the late afternoon, we watched one of the school's regular sports competitions. Among other things, basketball was played at an impressive level. Afterwards, we played volleyball with some other students, with my team (Georg's team) narrowly beating Manuel and Josephine's team in an exciting game!
