The next morning, we had to say goodbye to the brothers, who had given us such a warm and friendly welcome. After a quick breakfast, we travelled to the bus station, where we boarded the bus to Dodoma.
Over the next eight hours, we travelled through Tanzania's countryside and were even able to spot a few antelopes and zebras. Along the way, we were entertained by a varied television program that offered us everything from local music and a Chinese action film to K-pop.
In Dodoma, we were welcomed by our host students and teachers and travelled together to St. Peter Claver High School. The school is located just outside Dodoma and was founded in 2011. It is run by the Jesuits and follows the motto: "to learn, to love, to serve".
Here, too, we received a warm welcome before we were able to move into our rooms. Afterward, there was time to get to know each other better. In addition to our exchange partners, the teachers and students from the last exchange were also with us, and after we had chatted with each other, we played UNO together.
The day was almost over, and after we had eaten and played some more games, we went to bed tired and grateful for the shared joy and hospitality.
